Election Day!

Today we voted. I was prepared for the worst... long lines. I had to re-register because of change of address and I was in and out in 10 minutes. It was great.

They had a mock election for all the students today...hosted by 5th grade. At the end of the day, the votes were tallied and...

OBAMA WON BY 16 VOTES.

Another elementary school did this a few weeks back and it was a tie!! I have never seen kids so involved in the election. There were posters around school on the candidates that the students made telling you why you should vote for each one. Little conversations here and there were overheard from little kids about why they should vote for whom ever. I had to stop 2 little kids and tell them that both candidates were still good guys, no matter what happens. It was cute. Just think..2nd graders debating politics on the way to recess!

I hope you voted! What a privelage it is that we are able to!
